Hello and welcome! My name is Leanne, and I am a Mum, wife, loyal friend, woman, forager, gin drinker, netball player, paediatric nurse of 20 years and most recently I have entered the birthy world and become a dedicated birth and postpartum doula. As a firm believer in the transformative power of birth and the profound impact it has on families, I am committed to providing unwavering support throughout this incredible journey.

During the birth process, I work tirelessly to create a calming and empowering environment, ensuring that expectant parents feel informed, empowered, and fully supported. Whether you're planning a natural birth, a caesarean section, or anything in between, I will be by your side as your advocate, cheerleader, and source of comfort.

In the postpartum period, I continue to offer my caring and nurturing presence to help new parents navigate the beautiful challenges of early parenthood. From assisting with breastfeeding techniques to offering practical tips on infant care and self-care, my goal is to ease the transition into this new chapter of your life.

With my comprehensive knowledge of childbirth, postpartum care, and new-born development, I tailor my support to suit your unique needs and desires. Every family is different, and I am here to listen, guide, and celebrate each step of your journey into parenthood.

My journey to motherhood
Ten years ago, I embarked on the exhilarating journey of motherhood, filled with anticipation and eagerness for the arrival of my first baby. Armed with knowledge gleaned from countless books and prenatal classes, I felt prepared for the challenges and joys that lay ahead. However, nothing could have prepared me for the unexpected twists and turns that awaited me during labour.
As contractions intensified and the moment of birth drew near, I found myself at odds with the medical team, my carefully laid plans seemingly sabotaged by protocols and interventions that clashed with my vision of a natural birth. Despite my best efforts, my first childbirth experience left me feeling disillusioned and disheartened.
Determined to reclaim control over my birthing journey, I opted for a different approach with my second child. Choosing to give birth in a serene birth centre environment, I was amazed at how drastically different the experience was from my first. Within moments of arriving, I felt a sense of peace and empowerment wash over me, enveloping me in a cocoon of support and understanding.

With the arrival of my third child, I had honed my preferences and priorities, knowing deep within my heart that I wanted to give birth in the comfort and familiarity of my own home. Surrounded by loved ones. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the world slumbered, labour began to stir within me, signaling the imminent arrival. With each passing moment, the rhythm of labour intensified, drawing me closer to the moment of birth. In the quiet of the night, I found solace in the warm embrace of the birthing pool, surrendering to the primal instinct that guided me through the waves of contractions.
At 11 minutes past 1 am on the 11th, our daughter made her grand entrance into the world.
As dawn broke and the world stirred awake, our older children emerged from slumber, their sleepy eyes widening in wonder at the sight of their new sibling. In the quiet embrace of our home, surrounded by the ones we love most, we marveled at the beauty of this moment, our hearts bursting with the boundless joy of new beginnings and endless possibilities.

Ultimately, my intention in sharing this small insight into my birth stories is to provide personal anecdotes and foster open dialogue about childbirth, with the understanding that every individual's journey is valid and deserving of respect and support.
